The impact of population ageing significantly increases the number of the elderly people in cities .They demand for more facilities on the contemporary society , though they continue their participation in family and social development  to lighten their burden in the family and society . The issues of concern to the elderly include their:

b)    Medical care,

c)     Personal finances,

d)    Housing ,

e)    Family relationships

f)      Sex and intimacy

g)     Work, and

h)    Leisure activities.

Impact of urbanization on the elderly

The family member have less time to devote on the elderly care and support particularly in urban areas. There is a strong need . To  strengthen the family  .The increasingly polluted urban environment is affecting the elderly health , peace and ,security .The increasing crimes in the cities are making the elderly feeling more in secured .The urbanization ,  industrialization  and modernization has adverse impact on the elderly
